Turkey Expands Diplomatic Reach with Algeria

(MENAFN) On Sunday, Turkey’s top diplomat presided over the formal launch of a newly established Consulate General in the northwestern part of Algeria.

As stated by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan hosted a ceremonial event to celebrate the inauguration of Turkey’s Consulate General in Oran, a port city located along the Mediterranean coastline.

This coastal Algerian hub is home to a historic Turkish district and features a palace dating back to the Ottoman period.

Fidan’s presence in Algeria is connected to his participation in the Third Turkey-Algeria Joint Planning Group.

In the past few years, Turkey has set a new benchmark by opening an unprecedented number of diplomatic missions throughout the African continent.
